...For The Father Up Above Is Looking Down With Love...

"It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade, it's a slow fade"
Casting Crowns, Slow Fade

If forced at gunpoint to make a choice. A choice between dieing for Christ or living for ones self, most Christians would take the bullet with strength, courage, peace, and without hesitation. But what about those little decisions? The everyday choices we're faced with? Do we so easily do the right thing when there are no apparent eyes watching us? I see so many Christians slowly fading off of that small, narrow path, and they don't even know. It tears my heart.  We make decisions based on our momentary happiness and disregard the unending pain it puts our Father in.

It's a slow fade. One little secret here. One little choice there. Before you know it, you look back at that familiar narrow road, and you can't even see the path. Jesus says in Matthew 16:24, " If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." This is something we, as Christians (and humans) must do every day...every second of every day sometimes. Will it be easy? Absolutely not. Dieing on the cross is one of the most physically torturous ways to die, yet this is what Jesus described dieing to the flesh as. It's going to be the hardest thing we'll ever be faced with doing, but it will be the most rewarding.

So next time you're tempted to make that small choice that could turn into nothing, or maybe it could start an avalanche, think again. Next time you think no one's watching you, or no one will find out---Remember, God knows, and He has called you (yes YOU) to shine brighter and walk straighter. It may seem hard (it is) and it may seem impossible (it is) but with God it isn't.
