One Year Ago (Blessing #3)

A year ago today, it was a beautiful Fall evening and love was in the air.

Kyle and I went out for a date. We went and saw Wall Street (romantic, eh?). Afterwards, we decided we weren't ready for the night to be over so we headed to our favorite spot to talk. When Kyle Steven pulled into his parents driveway, I was a little confused.

I asked why we had stopped there and he said "oh nothing...just wanted to grab something."

My curiosity was piqued, but I tried not to read into too much. (I tend to do that, you see)

So, we headed on our way. Once we got there, Kyle told me to close my eyes.

So, I did.

When I opened them, he had lit some candles in his truck. (As, it was too cold to go outside)

I smiled. :)

We then talked about the movie, what the rest of the week my hold, and "how much we wuuuvvvved" each other.

As my curfew drew nearer, I knew it was time to say goodnight.

"I hate saying goodbye," I said, pouting.

"Me too." Kyle replied, equally as grumpy.

"We should just go elope and then we'll never have to say goodbye!" I said (this was a common conversation for us, as we had to say goodbye a lot of times.)

"Yeah!" Kyle agreed

After a minute or so, Kyle inturupted the silence...

"....so how about it? will you marry me?"

"What!?" I asked confused, surprised, and excited all at once.

Kyle slipped a little black box from his jacket and handed it to me. I opened it and saw an amazing ring staring back at me. I glanced back up and saw an even more amazing guy in front of me, grinning nervously.

"Is this for real!?" I asked...stilll not believing the goodness.

"Yes! It is! So...will you!?"

...and I said yes.

I can't believe it's been a year since that night. What a whirlwind of a year. The first six months went by so sloooow as I waited (very impatiently, I might add) to walk down the aisle and become Kyle Steven's bride. Six months of planning, stressing, crying, laughing, waiting, and not sleeping.

And the second six months....wonderful. I mean, it's just been fun. Being married is like a new adventure everyday. Oh sure, there are problems now and then with school, money, or something else; but when there's someone who's always at your side, helping you, it's so much better. Just like Ecclesiastes says

"Two are better than one,
Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm;       But how can one be warm alone?"

I couldn't have asked for a better husband. Kyle Steven is so smart, funny, charming, cute, lovable, he loves me, protects me, laughs at my jokes, makes me laugh (continuously), listens (most of the time ;) )...so, basically, he's perfect.

Happy one year from *engagement*, Kyle!

Also, happy birthday in two days!

....and happy six month of being married. (In two weeks that is!)
