.peaches.

This weekend me and the husband and some friends went peach picking. We stopped (more than once) to enjoy the fruits of our labor and they were oh so tasty. Now we have a freezer filled to the brim with peaches, and a list full of ideas. (yum, yum, and yum!)

Other than snacking on peaches, we have been glued to our tv's cheering the good U.S.A. on. We didn't have an channels before this, so after house hopping for the first two days to steal tv time from with our friends, we caved and got an antennae! We feel pretty legit in all our 10 channel glory. :) Any of you guys been watching The Olympics?? What's your favorite competition? I can't even decide mine, I love them all!

ALSO! I'm thinking about starting a quilt this fall! Me and one of my sister-in-laws have gotten the quilting bug. Here are a few patterns I'm trying to decide between. Scalloped, Triangular, or Patched. Which one? Which one? Have any of you guys taken on a quilt? I'm I crazy for wanting to?

  1. As a fellow quilt-lover/seamstress, you are NOT crazy for wanting to sew a quilt. If it's your first, though, I'd start with a patchwork. It also depends on your sewing notions and what you have available to you. Do you have a rotary board/cutter? That makes quilting 1000x easier! Can't wait to see what you do!

Oooh, yes!!! I've made several throw size/crib size quilts for each of the kids and several friend's kids. The piecing is the easy part, so you can go crazy with the design. The actual binding/quilting part is where it gets tricky if you don't have a machine that works well for quilting or you don't want to spend hours on end hand-quilting the entire thing (but what an accomplishment! I've hand-quilted two... the size of placemats. hahahahaha). Check out Anna Maria Horner... you'll be in love.
