.decked halls.

We are in full Christmas mode here at The Bungalow. Our halls have been decked, our shopping has been done, and our stockings have been hung. I love it. Kyle and I like to go all out for this holiday, and we usually have to stop ourselves from breaking out the Christmas music and decorations before Thanksgiving. (We don't want Thanksgiving to be over shadowed, but at the same time we feel it should be moved to October so Christmas can be the two-month celebration it deserves. ;) )

One thing I love about Christmas is traditions. You know, the ones that make you say "it wouldn't feel like Christmas without..." One of mine is eggnog. Whenever we get together at my parents house to help them decorate, we always break out the wine glasses and sip eggnog and act fancy. We have done this as long as I can remember.

I love having old traditions, and I love making new one's with Kyle even more. I love the idea of starting something now that our children will cherish in future and pass on to their children. :)

What traditions do you and yours have?

  1. That second photo is GORGEOUS!

We drink boiled custard, visit family, listen to Christmas book, and go Black Friday shopping for clothes.

We are still working on more traditions since we usually spend the whole holiday and more with family, but they will come :)

    1. Thanks, Autumn! :)

I totally understand! Our holidays are split between his family and my family with "our" holiday time squished in there somewhere. Haha

I'm curious about this boiled custard. Sounds yum! You should send me the recipe. :)

    2. We usually buy it from the grocery store, but since you can really only find it in the south here is a recipe:

  3. You're shopping is done?! Amazing. (And love the kraft wrapping with silver ribbon.)

Also, THAT wreath. Where did you find it? I've been on the hunt and all I can find is too craft fair-ish... but that's just the right amount of Christmas cheer!

    1. I try and keep a list of ideas for people year round so it's easier to think of things!

Thanks! It's been hard for me not to go overboard with sparkles this year. Haha I'm kinda addicted. Also, I got the wreath at Michaels! (Yay for Black Friday sales!)

    1. Agreed! Have you ever tried raw sugar? That's what I always use in my teas!
