.friday finds: shop of the month.

Alina Strain, owner of My Yellow Umbrella (and also a friend of mine), recently decided to go after her dream and start her own business. It has taken off in the last couple weeks since it's opening. (Including a spot on the front page of Etsy Gift Guide for Her.) I love seeing people's dreams fly. It's inspiring. (I also love having friends with amazing talents. :) )

1. What style is your shop?
Beautiful, yet practical and affordable, wares for you and your home!
2. What's your favorite item in your shop?
Hard to pick one since that's always changing, but since we're just coming out of the Christmas season, probably my linen stockings. They're timeless enough to work with almost any style, yet beautiful and unique enough that they make a statement! Oh, and also the iPad case/clutch made from delicious Michael Miller black & white stripe and a cognac real suede...statement piece for sure! I've had people stop me on the street to ask me about it.
3. What inspired the name My Yellow Umbrella?
My maiden name starts with a "Y," and I would always have to spell it, starting with "It's a 'Y' like 'yellow'!", plus my blog has always covered a myriad of topics--from sewing tutorials to recipes, pictures of our life to pictures of stores I've visited in our travels--it's acted like an umbrella of sorts. Hence...My Yellow Umbrella!

Be sure to check out Alina's Shop for lots of goodies and her blog for tips, tricks, and little insights into her life. :)
