.2013 book list.

There you have it, folks. My 2013 reading list. I'm pretty darn excited about it. Some of these were recommended by friends, some I stumbled upon on my own, some have been on my "to read" list for a while. Some of these are a little daunting (I'm talking about you "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and "A. Lincoln" !), but they'll  be interesting nonetheless. There are several other novels coming out this year that I plan on reading as well (but the covers haven't been released for them yet!). Have any of ya'll picked out books to read this year? Or perhaps have a book you've read a thousand times and can't get enough of?

In other news, Kyle gets home today!! He's been gone all weekend (longest we've been apart since we said "i do.") I'm not gonna lie, it's been terrible. I used to be an independent soul, but marriage has completely ruined me. ;) Plus, to top of the awesomeness of talking my cop brother-in-law to stop by and check the bungalow for me (and even the cabinets..in case of midgets!), and not being able to sleep without my cuddle buddy (sorry, too far??), I got the flu. First time in 15 years. It's the hazard of being a nanny, I suppose. You can't help but hug and kiss their little faces...especially when they're sick.

In other, other news, before the flu bug inhabited my body, I got to see two friends I hadn't seen in a while. It was wonderful. I love having friendships that last, even when we don't get to see each other every week or even every month. It truly is a blessing. I'm kinda a horder of my time, and lately God has been gently reminding me that I need to stop being so selfish with it. Yes, it is good to want to spend every second with my husband, but it may also be a much needed blessing to me or the person I'm getting together with.

Also, I learned how to make cake pops this last week. I should not have learned that. Now I want cake pop allthetiiiiimes.

I kinda wish I would have got my degree in graphic design. I enjoy that kind of stuff immensely....it's pretty stinking hard core though. Let's be honest, I never would have lasted!

  1. Nice list...I am planning on reading more this year, and am going to try to read a chapter a day to keep me in the swing of things. I have a whole stack of "to read" books on my nightstand that have been there for a while!

  2. I love your book list. I haven't made mine that formalized, but I got some gift cards at Christmas and I immediately bought some I have been thinking about for a while before I could spend it on anything else.

Eww...I also had the flew. It was HORRIBLE. Hope you are feeling 100% better!

  3. Hehe....I like that you said you wouldn't of lasted for Graphic Design school. That's what I went for and my last year I switched it to a minor so I didn't have to stay longer! HA! Btw, I like your book list. I am going to have to check some out!

  4. A Severe Mercy... AMAZING. You will absolutely LOVE A Severe Mercy. I read it when we were dating and have read it several times throughout our marriage... each time a different reading experience. Sometimes I loved it so much, and sometimes it kind of hurt to read it. It is just so good.
