.who we are: week two.

What was your favorite hiding place as a kid?

The only places I played hide and seek at really were at my grandma's and the Michaelson's. At my grandma's, I usually hid in a tree out in the woods; and at the Michaelson's, I laid down in their ditch by the road or in their awesome storage room.

When I was young, my parents built a house and there was a closet that looked like it was tiny from the outside, but was actually pretty big. Me and Brandon claimed that as our hideout/club meeting place/general hang out area.

What music artist do you love that your other half hates listening to?

Brad Paisley.

I have really good taste in music...Kyle can't help but like everything I listen to. :) Really though, we pretty much like the same stuff! (Yay!)

What has your other half recently done that made you love them more?

While we were dating I remember having a conversation where I told Julia that I thought that women who could cook good food were attractive, and since getting married she has gotten really good at cooking food and that's made me even more attracted to her. (you know what they say...the way into a man's heart is through his stomach....)

Today, when Kyle got home from work, the first thing he did was give me a big bear hug and tell say "you look really pretty today."....He just knows how to make me feel special.

What is your favorite hole-in-the-wall place to eat? (or favorite restaurant in general)

My sister and brother-in-law introduced us to this Vietnamese place last summer where they serve a dish called Pho and every time I go there I'm completely satisfied and really enjoy the experience.

Pho. :) (Great minds think alike! Thank you, Kayla and Seth for introducing us to that life changer. :) )

What do you admire most about your significant other?

Well, I hate questions like this that make me narrow things to just one because there's a lot of things about my wife that I admire...all of which are important to who she is. The thing that comes to mind at the moment is that she's just nice, friendly, and easy to get along with.

I agree with Kyle....I hate putting limits on things I admire about my husband. Can I just list like 50? ;) The thing that pops into my mind right now, is his heart for the Lord. He's always trying to be the best man and husband he can be.

Ideally, where would you like to be 5 years from now?

I think this is a really important question that people should ask themselves periodically because it turns your dreams into goals. Goals are attainable, dreams are our there in the future "somewhere." In five years, I want to be done with school, have my family started (BABIES!), I            want to be working in the field of my career choice.

In our own house (with a garden...near a beach! :D)  holding one of our babies. :)

What is the greatest place you've ever traveled to?

Back in high school, I used to take trips to Colorado in August with some of my good buddies. We would camp, hike, swim, kayak, play poker, climb, scramble up rock slides, and I would normally finish a couple Louis L'amour books. It got close to 90 degrees during the day and around 50 degrees at night. I just really enjoyed those trips. (what the what!? I need to take one of these trips!)

Easy! Jamaica for our honeymoon. It was wonderful. Not the best "place" I've been to, but it was definitely the best vacation. Me and my husband and the beach?! Getoutoftown! (not to mention free food! woot!).

Are you a morning person or a night person?

Morning. I start falling asleep at like 9:45. (true story...I'm always begging him to stay awake with me. the other night he was falling asleep at 7!!)

I used to be a night person, but after getting married to Mr. Early Bird, I tend to go to bed when he does.

What is your favorite/go-to YouTube video?

It's kinda long, and I know it's a little old. There are lots of newer video's about this guy, but this is one of my favorite videos of all time. Jet-Man.  This next one speaks for itself.  Dwight K. Schrute.

oh boy...too many options! Here's the first two that never fail to make me laugh:
Classic.
Nailed it.

What do you do on your bad days to make you happy?

I'm sitting here thinking about it, and I realize I don't really have bad days. Some days something might happen that I don't like very much, but I just chalk it up to life, and move on. I try to stay positive about everything. (what a catch! seriously...he's always challenging me to be better.)

Spoon Kyle.
