.who we are: week one.

This year I wanted to start some new things on this here blog of mine. I want to bring a little more of me and Kyle into it. To get a little more personal, if you will. I've been thinking about how exactly we could do that, and I remembered a little blog I stumbled upon a while back. The writer and her husband did a weekly Q and A together. Kyle and I already do this a little, but I love the idea of having it written down to be remembered and shared.

So, that's what going to be happening here on Wednesdays...goofy pictures and little (interesting?) tid-bits about us. I've been seeing these kind of "interviews" here and there on Pinterest and other places so we'll be adding new little twists along the way to keep things lively and fun. We hope you enjoy it! :)

What is an item of clothing your other half has that you wish they would throw away?

The yellow dress that has square sleeves. (a dress i wore for a loooong time cause I thought it was hott. *sigh*)

A highschool t-shirt he found at goodwill...I've tried hiding it several times, but it never goes over very well. haha

What is the greatest family vacation you went on as a kid?

Easy! Ski Trip in Copper Mountain.

Hiking in Utah. We did lots of weekend trips when we lived there and they were awesome

Would you want to live in the city, country, or beach?

City. I think it'd be cool to live where you don't have a car.

Country close to a beach? uh-oh....

What is your favorite type of cake?

Chocolate Sheet Cake. (Not to brag or anything, but I make reeeeaaallly good chocolate sheet cake.)

I am a lover of all cakes.

What is a talent you wish you were better at?

Golf.

Photography! (Or perhaps singing...or playing the guitar....or pottery...)

Describe your other half in 3 words.

Funny, hott, and friend.

Smart, driven, and compassionate.

What was your biggest hobby as a little kid?

Basketball...or playmobile.

I was really into barbies. Me and my sister made a Barbie Villa out of our entire upstairs. (You know you're jealous. ;) )

What about the world makes you sad?

Children who don't have anyone to take care of them.

Broken marriages...or even just "okay" marriages.  I just want to shake them and tell them how much they're missing out on.

What about the world makes you happy?

I don't know if I can narrow it down to just one. I try to find the good in every situation, but something that always makes me smile is when I hear people screaming "We're debt free!!" on Dave Ramsey.

Is it cliche to say love makes me happy? Especially old love. You know, the aged kind. The married for fifty years and been through everything and  still going strong kind. It melts me.

What is your current favorite song?

Tim McGraw, Beers Ago

Mumford and Sons, Whispers in the Dark

questions were grabbed from here.

  1. Very cute! And I have to say, you ever been to the Central Coast of California?? I was born and raised there and there are MANY ranches/country homes right near the ocean. And it's just probably the most beautiful place to live, hands down.

    1. Oh, Cali. It has been calling my heart for too long! I was actually born in San Diego and my aunt lived in San Fransisco so I've visited there several times. I love It!! :) The husband, however, isn't too big a fan. (He's crazy!) I'm trying to talk him into Oregan now. :p

  2. What a great idea!! I will have to see if the hubs would participate in something like this even if it's just for us. :-)

    1. You definitely should! It's a lot of fun and it's a way to learn something new about your spouse! If you do talk him into it, you should link up here!

Love it. Literally laughed out loud at some of your answers. "We 're debt free!" Right out loud

  4. I love this idea! And I really hope that in 10, 25, and even 50 years from now, I'm reading up on how much you love your husband and marriage (and babies, I hope!) because it's so beautiful now... I can imagine how beautiful it will be then.
