.who we are: week seven.

Heyo! Happy Wednesday. :) This week's question's (or more accurately Kyle's answers) had me cracking up. (For reals. I had to stop typing for a little bit because I was laughing too hard. I love that man.)

BUT, before we get to those, I thought I'd share a little "behind the scenes" of the photos that go up on Who We Are. I'd like to tell you that I just grab my camera and Kyle, we take one photo and *SNAP* it's a winner...this is not the case. I married a man who, I love dearly and who humors my photograph taking, but is really not fond of being in front of the lens. I can usually talk him in to taking a photo if it doesn't last too long. It usually goes something like this....

*SNAP* blurry
*SNAP* double chin
*SNAP* unflattering laughter
*Kyle starts getting antsy*
*SNAP* not looking at the camera
*Kyle really starts getting tired of taking pictures*
*SNAP* tired smiles
*Me promising Kyle it will only take one more time*
*SNAP* not blurry? we're kinda smiling? Sounds good to me!

Don't believe me? Ask the dishes!

Q&A after the jump!

If you could be/had to be the main character of any movie, who would you be?

Obi Wan Kenobi....or maybe Charlie from Open Range 'cause he's awesome.

Since Kyle told me I couldn't say Olivia Benson (*insert eye roll and complaining here*), Elizabeth Bennet. :)

What physical feature do you love most about yourself?

I would have to go with my freckles. I used to hate them, but I find that I'm quite fond of them now.

Tell us why your name is your name.

My first name's Kyle. Probably the first criteria is that it had to start with a "k" because all my siblings have "k" names. I think it means "tall, dark, and handsome...and really smart." Steven's my middle name, it's my Dad's middle name as well.

My first name is Julia, which was after my Grandma on my Momma's side. My middle name is Faye, which is after my Granny on my Dad's side. My last name is Barger because I married the best looking man around. :)

What is the greatest place you've ever traveled to?

 Probably Japan or Colorado.

CALIFORNIA. Santa Monica was spectacular. I just can't  get over it.

Who is someone you wish you were closer to?

All of my friend's from high school.

There are several couples that I think we click with really well, and we always have good intentions of hanging out, but never seem to get around to it. I wish time didn't get away from me so often.

What character quality do you want your kids to inherit from your spouse?

I want  my kids to have a serving attitude, I want them to be unselfish, and easy to get along with. There are obviously many more qualities in Julia I admire, and I would probably choose different ones tomorrow. For today though, those are what I would choose.

There are so many! I hope they have his good and honest heart. That they have his desire to be honorable in a dishonorable world. I hope they have his hard working attitude and know the value of a good days work.

What's your favorite memory with your childhood best friend?

Hanging out with Sean and Brandon at basketball games, watching people (aka...julia:)) play basketball.

My best friend (Alex), my sister, and I used to have "mini parties" all the time growing up. We'd get little treats and stay up late giggling, listening to N'Sync (Sorry, Mom. :/), and doing our nails. We'd also have parties for almost every holiday.

If you had to move out of the country where would you move to?

If I was forced to move, I would probably move to Australia because it's probably the most like the U.S. of A. Maybe Scotland, or Ireland because of the golfing history there.

That's so tough!! I would love to live in Europe for a time, but I don't really know specifically. Italy would be amazing. As would Australia...and Ireland. Really anywhere. haha.

Which of the 7 deadly sins are you? (anger, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony)

Honestly, all of them except envy, and anger.

Sadly, most of those fit me. Probably the one I struggle with the most is envy.

Who wears the pants?

Probably 65-75% me...not to say Julia is controlling or manipulative of me, but we just make at least all of the big decisions together.

I'd have to agree with Kyle. (Unless it's after 8pm...then chances are neither of us have pants on.)

If you've made it this far CONGRATS. :) You are our biggest fan. haha no, really...thanks for taking the time to stop by and read our blog. We want to know what's on YOUR mind. What do YOU want to ask us? Give us a question(s) in a comment (Or on our facebook page or even twitter! Whatevs!) you wish to see us answer in the coming Who We Are Columns. :)

questions were grabbed from here.

  1. First off, I totally sympathize with photo taking with your man because that is pretty much how it goes with T and I. :)

Secondly, a few questions you MUST answer (jk, you don't have to, but I would be a sad monkey if you didn't) ( about guilt trip! lol). Anyway, here are the questions:

    You're proudest moment?

Whose wardrobe would you most like to possess and why?

Why do people talk about ‘girlie’ things but never ‘boyie’ things?

The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to you was…

Those are just a few I could think of that would be interesting to hear from you two. :)

    1. I'm pretty sure that's how EVERY guy is. haha God just wired them that way. :)

      p.s. thanks for the q's. :)

  2. Too cute! Love the silly answers. Seems like a fun post to do!

  3. hahaha love this so much. that's exactly how trying to take a good picture works just about every time. haha

    1. I've learned that if a picture SHOULD take five minutes to set aside thirty minutes for it, because that's how long it will end up taking. hahah
