"exploring my own backyard" otherwise known as "what i did this weekend"

exploring my own backyard
fall days outside

I am thankful for time to explore, even if it is in my own backyard.
I'm thankful for a world so incredible that even dying leaves bring beauty.
I'm thankful for cool breezes that push me to seek out the warm rays of sun.
I'm thankful for times of reflection, to dig deep and examine myself and my life.

what are you thankful for?

  1. uh - love this.
    those pictures are gorgeous.
& as I said on instagram, your calligraphy is downright beautiful!
I love your thankful list - especially the dying leaves, it's so true...death can be a natural beautiful thing. hmm.

i'm thankful for cold weather and fires. for reflection and simplicity. that's what this holiday season is meaning to me more and more: simplicity. <3

    1. Thankful for cold weather?! I'm sorry but we can no longer be friends. ;) It finally got cold where I am, and now I can't leave the house without looking like the Michellin Man! ;p

I do agree about simplicity though...as I'm getting older, the more I'm leaning towards/craving simplicity. It's refreshing.

  2. I adore these photos. You're one of my favorite IGers that always graces my feed with such beauty :) xo I am thankful for this season too- I think it's healthy to stretch and find beauty in different landscapes, things that don't smack you in the face, but things you have to be patient with and have an attentive eye and spirit to enjoy.

    1. Thank you! That means a lot considering how much I love your IG! Such beauty, even with the simple thing.

Exactly! The things you have to wait and be patient for and search after are so rewarding!

  6. This is so beautiful! I am thankful for those very same things. I am also thankful for this rain that we're having this evening. It's so lovely... and rare these days. There's just something so peaceful and cleansing about it. I'm thankful for this perfect evening and thankful for the day ahead!

    1. A rainy evening is about as close to perfection as it can get! I'm jealous!

  7. I absolutely, totally, with a passion, wish I lived close to woods and had such a fantastic backyard. My kid would love it! Imagine such freedom... But will never happen. My husband loves city life too much. I think he's just afraid of bears... =)

    1. Oh no! That's a shame! You'll just have to hunt for the perfect place...close to the city AND the woods. Oregon perhaps? (That's my dream place to live!)
