knitted pot holder

i don't know about you guys, but i can't handle it when i get sick for more than a day. i had being confined to laying in my bed...i feel so lazy! i mean, don't get me wrong...i love a good netflix binge day just like the rest of the world, but i have to be able to get up and do tasks/projects in between or else i'll go stir crazy!

so last week when i was sick for five days i thought it was boredom that was going to kill me, rather than the actual sickness. so one day two i decided to complete a project that's been on my to-do list for a while. knitted pot holders! i'd been putting it off because cutting strips and strips of fabric can get a tad tedious. (perfect for a sick week however!)

they're a little wonky and some spots are thicker than others (those strips of fabric were probably being cut during a really intense part of doctor who or 24 when my attentions was taken), but i really like them. i'm planning on making a few more, just for funsies.
and possibly sewing some oven mitts...anyone have an easy way of doing that??

(also...can we talk about how pretty those wooden needles are?? kyle bought me a whole bunch of them for christmas...*sigh*)

in other news, we are buying a new car today. it'll be the biggest purchase kyle and i have ever made together. we've been saving up for quite a while and hunting for the perfect one.
it's all very exciting, really. :)
(but also...car shopping is really intimidating, am i right??)

how is your week shaping up?

  4. gorgeous. i wish we lived by each other so we could be knitting buddies! & car shopping is so SO nerve wracking. we were lucky that someone we knew worked at a dealership and he basically got us a car at price. it was such a blessing. whatever you get you will love it and it will be perfect!

  7. LOVEEEE THESE ARE SO CUTE. And I totally hear you about sick days...I was sick for three and I literally hated my bed by the end of it haha. But I got so much quilting done! Thank goodness there are crafts we can do on our least productive of days.
