currently.

i've been trying to cook more dinners (per my new year resolution list). it's very hard to do that after i get off work. it's always so tempting to just watch tv and "chill." (especially when in the middle of doctor who) BUT i feel way better when i cook a healthy (well, semi healthy :P) meal and use the rest of my evening to actually do things.

last week i made a dinner every night. this may be a normal occurrence for some, but for me it's a big deal. on our menu was our favorite homemade pizza, our new go-to soup, and salmon (i can't go a week without eating salmon...omnomnomnom).

we are moving to a new apartment soon. just one that's a tad bigger. we've been lucky to live close to my parents who have an attic they let us store stuff in, but we are still slowly starting to burst at the seams here.

when we get to the new apartment we're going to change a lot of things. we're thinking minimalist industrial style. simple things that won't go out of style. we want to make a lot of the stuff ourselves too. like this bookshelf and this coffee table. i'm pretty stinkin' excited.

so i've been practicing my calligraphy every spare moment i have. i'm absolutely addicted! i also started watching videos...which is both helpful and discouraging. haha a friend of mine shared this one last night and i died. so beautiful.

*ALSO* we got a new car! aaaaah! we've been saving up for a while and *finally* found a good one. we got a black four door 2011 nissan altima. i told kyle we are like real big kids now!

....and now i leave you with this clip. because even though i've seen it at least a dozen times, it still made me die laughing.

    1. I didn't...I'm planning on designing some kind of header for the website, but I haven't figured out exactly how to get it from paper to vector yet. :/

  3. oooo! Definitely do those DIY's! My husband made a similar table to the coffee table you posted and I love it. It's so cool to have handmade furniture around our apartment.

    1. couldn't agree more. the pieces we have in our house that we've made ourselves mean so much more than ones we just ran out and bought. there's a story behind them. :)

    1. ugh. I can totally relate. we've been saving up for a while now and handing over that much cash made me want to cry a little. haha i'm definitely not a spender! you just have to remember that it is worth it!! better to get something reliable that doesn't need a bunch of work!

  7. Ahh, I LOVE that type of industrial-style shelving. When we [finally] get into a place of our own, I totally plan on making them, so I'll have to ask you for some tips! Your life lately sounds really wonderful. I love getting into good grooves, cooking meals and being productive. It's definitely something I have to work at a little, but I always go to bed feeling so much better when I cooked, cleaned, worked out, etc... though I always manage to sneak in a little BBC programming here and there! ;)
