just a friendly reminder

is there anything better than getting a letter in the mail? like a real letter. not advertisements or bills or coupons or other boring things.
but a real life letter.

i seriously do a happy dance every time i open my little box and i have a letter.
(not even kidding, people...ask my husband. he's witnessed it many a time.)

anyways.....because i love getting mail so much, i decided that i want to start returning the favor. postcards and letters and thank you notes are really becoming a lost art.

a friend of mine gave me a thank you note (the cute floral one you see above) and i was totally surprised. after "oohing" and "aahing" over how cute the card was ('cause seriously...it's pretty darn cute),  i told her she didn't need to do that, she said something to the affect of "it's worth the extra time."
so, so true.

even though it's so much easier to send a text or email...it really does mean so much more to take a few minutes out of your day to say "thanks" or "hi."

do it.
and maybe someone will return the favor
and you too will have something to dance about when you check the mail. :)

p.s, if you're like me and you're letter writing novice in this technology filled world, try starting with a postcard.
they're super cute and super easy.
(and they also double as art...so win, win, win.)

  1. thanks for the reminder, Julia..sending mail is definitely something I need to get better at! I have a box full of cards that need to get sent to people, instead of just being stored away!

  7. Oh, I love sending mail and receiving it. I've been trying for years to get a pen pal but it seems like everyone is way too busy to run to the post now a days.

    1. i know what you mean! it's quite sad really! with technology, it's just so much easier for people to send a "thank you text" instead.

  8. One of my 'be a responsible adult' goals is to be diligent in writing thank you notes. I think it's really important our generation keeps those types of interactions up. Plus real mail is pretty boring without handwritten letters! :)

  9. All of your cards are so darling (especially love the marshmallow one)! I agree that there's no better feeling then getting handwritten mail from someone you love. I'd love to have a pen pal or something like it- I think that would be so fun!

    P.s. I nominated you for a Sunshine Award! http://thehippiememoirs.blogspot.com/2014/03/the-sunshine-award.html
