podcasts 101

heyooo! i mentioned last week that i've begun listening to podcasts when editing photos and such. normally i binge on tv shows (don't judge :p), but i realized lately that's not the best use of my time or my brain for that matter.

enter my husband. he walks a toooon for his job so to keep himself entertained he listens to podcasts all day. he was recently telling me all about a new podcast he had found and i told him i wanted to start listening to podcasts too. (he then got really excited and downloaded a bunch of his favorite podcasts/episodes onto my phone for me. he's fantastic!) and let me just say. i feel so much better about spending the morning/afternoon editing now, because while i'm working i'm also learning. it's awesome.

anyways, a few of you had asked what podcasts i listen to, so i thought i'd give you the down low on some of my favorites! i had a video of me talking about them, but my sister said i seemed nervous and i chickened out. haha maybe next time?
this is my favorite podcast. it covers a really wide range of topics from "how chocolate works" to "how mass murders work" to "how airforce one works." it's always really interesting and *bonus* the hosts, josh and chuck, are really funny.
this is a fun little podcast. i like to classify it as "girl talk." most of the stuff they talk about seem like stuff that a group of women would end up discussing. things like "generation instagram" and "can birth control kill you" and "when did women start wearing pants."

this podcast is awesome to me because during high school/college i never really cared about history so i never remembered any of it. this podcast, however, has reeeally interesting stories from history. i just listened to "the lions of tsavo." craz-i-ness!

this one's quite a bit different than the previous three mentioned. there's only one host (don carlin) and it's muuuuch longer. the one i'm in the middle of is about world war I and it's six hours long. six. stinking. hours. my poor little ocd mind can't handle that much time, i have to listen in small increments. haha

others i've downloaded, but haven't listened to yet!
freakenomics
tech stuff
ted talks
the moth

....and there you have it! i think this post has gone on long enough! haha

if you've got any podcasts you think i should add to the list, let me know!
