catch up

winter has officially run away with it's tail between it's legs. the weather has decided to quite teasing us with spats of warmness and to just go all in. the temperatures are in the nineties all week. i'd complain, but i'm too busy working on my tan and eating slushies.

i recently read the fault in our stars. and by recently i mean yesterday in a couple hours. and by read i mean devoured. what a hauntingly beautiful book. someone asked me what it was about and i couldn't explain it and give it justice. i'm still processing all of it, and i'll probably end up re-reading it a couple times for good measure. (this time with a highlighter)

as a fore mentioned, it's sunshine city in these parts. so, once again, i've been bitten with the "let's plant all the succulents" bug. i bought three succulents and one cacti and so far all of them are still alive. (yay!)

we move in less than a month. LESS THAN A MONTH, PEOPLE. i am stooooked. (do people still say stoked??) i'll admit, when i really think about it, i get all teary eyed and emotional. this little space has treated kyle and i well these last three years. lots of memories have been made here. i'm sure we will live lots of different places when it's all said and done, but this one will always be our first. it's bittersweet to say the least.

also, am i complete nutcase for being excited about packing? i'm almost giddy about being able to go through *all* our stuff and get rid/sell/donate/organize it. it's weird, right?

kyle and i (and some friends) have been playing sand volleyball lately. i had forgotten how much i love sports and competition and having team mates and smack talk and being sore in the best way.

i'm really wanting to redo this little site again. i'm so bad at actually keeping it for a normal amount of time. i just love fiddling around and changing things. maybe someday when kyle steven is done with online classes i'll have time to get on the computer and "design" to my heart content. :)

what has been going on in your lives lately? let's catch up, shall we?

  1. Love the process of purging! I read somewhere that it's easier to purge months or weeks ahead of time, slowly getting rid of things, because by the time you move, you'll be less attached to the place/things and ready to establish yourself in a new home. Not sure how true that is but purging bit by bit does make things easier! Hope your move goes well :)

    1. me too! it's so satisfying and refreshing.

that's brilliant! i never thought i'd be emotionally attached to things, but i already get sad thinking about getting rid of stuff and leaving all at once. i'll have to start now and spread it out. :)
