my first giveaway and a silly video

whew! may is over! let's break out the confetti and silly string. i mean, i don't like wishing time away, but man was i ever ready for june to get here! may was like a never ending maniacal whirlwind!!

things have finally calmed down though! i have small break from weddings, and we are all moved (aaaah!).

guys....our apartment feels HUGE. we actually have a hallway. a HALLWAY. big stuff around here. any time one of us is in the kitchen and needs something from the bedroom, we grumble "i can't believe i have to walk all the way down the hall ... " we love it. :)

also, we finally have internet again, so i shouldn't be quite so MIA anymore. (yay?)

i'm hoping to get pictures of our new place sometime in the near future (when all the decorating/unpacking/recuperating is done) to share with ya'll. *but* in the meantime, i thought i'd do something extra nice for you guys. because you guys simply rock.

a while back, shayla asked me if i wanted to read her mother's book and, if i liked it, give one away to you guys. uuuumm. heck yes, i do! so i waited impatiently for my copy of spots to arrive and when it did, i read it as quickly as my little eyes could. it is such a great book.

i don't want to give too much away, but basically the book is about shayla's mom who grew up in africa with two african american best friends during the apartheid. it's about friendship and childhood and adventure and growing up and living and mischief. from the very first chapter i was hooked. the writing and stories made me long to be a kid again.

you really want to read this book. really, really.
and if my words don't convince you to enter the giveaway,  here's a silly little video. enjoy. :)

  4. You are seriously the cutest. I loved your video :) Also, the whole hallway thing. How awesome is that? Zack and I are currently looking to move to a bigger place and I never thought about how we don't currently have one! It will be weird the day we have to "walk down the hallway" to get to the bedroom. HA!
