chai tea latte

first of all. FOUR DAYS, people. FOUR STINKING DAYS and i'll be on my way to europe. i am freeeeeaking oooout. i had to sit on my suitcase while trying to see if everything would fit, but i've got mad skills and got it to work.

anyways, i wanted to leave you guys with a delicious recipe to accompany the fall weather we've been having lately.

as you all should know by now, chai tea is my kyrptonite. the spiciness, the creaminess. ah. i die! the other night i had some free time (actually i just forced myself to stop working on stuff and take a break) and i decided to make chai lattes for me and kyle. we had the windows open, letting in the cool fall air. it was the perfect night for a cup.

now, chai is one of those things that you have to tweak until you get the perfect recipe for you. some people like it really spicy. some people like it more creamy. some like it thick. some don't. it's really up to you. sometimes i change it up...depending on my mood.

this is my recipe, which i adapted/tweaked from manda's recipe. (that women is seriously amazing.)

CHAI TEA LATTE
makes 4-6 servings

two cups water
1/2 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp pepper
four cloves (or 1 tsp clove powder)
four cardamom pods (or 2/3 tsp cardamom powder)
one large cinnamon stick (or 1 tsp ground cinnamon)
two cups milk
2 tbs raw sugar (or any kind of sugar really)
2 tbs  loose black tea (preferably chai masala or garam)

+ bring water and spiced to a boil +
+ let simmer 1-3 minutes (the longer, the spicier) +
+ add milk & sugar and bring back to a boil +
+ add tea leaves, remove from heat, & steap 3-5 minutes +
